Zion National Park features incredible canyons and spectacular views, attracting the adventure enthusiasts from around the world. The Park encompasses the narrow, multicolored Kolob Canyons to the north and many miles of largely impenetrable mountain wilderness. However, Zion Canyon is the most immediately spectacular of the many geological wonders in Utah, where sheer red and white sandstone cliffs tower up to 800 meters above the North Fork of the Virgin River. Located at the junction of the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin, and Mojave Desert regions, the park has a unique geography and a variety of life zones that allow for unusual plant and animal diversity.
